01 Information we collect

When you register and use the player portal, we collect:

• Account information: the player name and password you create, and a security question and answer used for account recovery.
• Team information: your team name and related profile details you choose to provide.
• Tournament activity: your fixtures, submitted match results, group standings, and status in the tournament.
• Portal messages: messages you send in group chat within the player portal.
• Payment information: when you pay your entry fee via M-Pesa, we receive transaction confirmation details (such as the M-Pesa confirmation code, amount paid, and the phone number the payment was made from). We do not collect or store your M-Pesa PIN or full mobile money account credentials — these are handled directly by Safaricom/M-Pesa.
• Support communications: if you email us for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
• Technical & usage data: collected automatically through Google Analytics, such as pages visited, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how you interact with the site.

02 How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Create and manage your player account and tournament profile
• Run the tournament — generating fixtures, tracking standings, and displaying results
• Confirm entry fee payments and your registration status
• Enable group chat and communication within the player portal
• Respond to support requests
• Monitor and improve the site using aggregated analytics
• Enforce our tournament rules and Terms of Use, including addressing cheating, abuse, or disputes

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

03 Who we share information with

We keep sharing to the minimum needed to run the tournament. We share information with:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — our backend host, which stores account data, tournament data, and portal messages on our behalf.
• Google Analytics — for aggregated, anonymized-where-possible site usage statistics.
• Safaricom / M-Pesa — to process entry fee payments. Payment processing is subject to M-Pesa's own privacy practices.
• Other players — your player name, team name, and fixture/standings information are visible to other participants as part of normal tournament operation. Group chat messages are visible to members of your group.
• Law enforcement or authorities — only where required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Efootball Arena, players, or the public.

04 Data security

We use Firebase Authentication to handle password storage, which applies industry-standard hashing so we never see or store your password in readable form. Tournament and account data is stored in Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure with access restricted to tournament administration.

No online system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a password you don't reuse elsewhere, and to choose a security question answer that isn't easily guessed or publicly known about you (for example, avoid answers findable on your social media).

05 Data retention

We retain player account and tournament data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, maintain tournament records, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your rights" below), subject to records we're required to keep for legal or dispute-resolution purposes.

06 Children's privacy & age requirement

Efootball Arena is intended for players aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a player under 13 has registered, please contact us at the email below so we can review and remove the account.

If you are between 13 and 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission before registering, particularly before making any payment.

07 Your rights

Efootball Arena primarily serves players in Kenya and other African countries. Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — for example, under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, or similar data protection laws in your country. Where applicable, these rights typically include the ability to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and personal information
• Object to or restrict certain uses of your information
• Withdraw consent, where our use of your data relies on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email us using the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you're in Kenya and believe your rights under the Data Protection Act have not been respected, you may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

08 Cookies & analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and similar technologies to help us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device type, and similar usage patterns). This data is aggregated and used to improve the site — it is not used to identify you personally.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser add-on, though some site features may work less well as a result.

09 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the tournament grows or our tools change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the site or player portal after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
